Rutgers vs. Morgan State. It's good to be back home. Following a tough loss to Navy, this is pretty much a must win at this point. If you lose, you fall to 0-4, and you just got beat by a D-1AA team. No offense to Morgan State, but to lose to a D-1AA team in your own building - that's the ultimate low.
As a matter of fact, Morgan State is a pretty darn good team. On the defensive line, they average 298 lbs. On the offensive line, they average 310 lbs. They have NUMEROUS D-1A transfers. This game WON'T be a blow out. I say Rutgers by two touchdowns, but not a 40 point win or anything. This is an athletic, respectable squad with a fast paced, athletic defense.
Want to know more about Morgan State? Well, they have 9 interceptions on the season...that's better than our...0! They have good ball hawking corners combined with a decent pass rush - this team could definitely hold us in check.
But, it's only a matter of time before Rutgers bursts out of this slump. And it starts this week. Mike Teel is going to get his act together this week. He will finally start throwing the ball downfield again - we have to, there is no other choice. You can't keep shielding him from opponents secondaries afraid of interceptions. Look - if your not going to throw the ball down the field against Morgan State, the Teel SHOULD NOT be your starting QB. Your wasting his time, the team's time, and the fan's time. It's due for a change if your going to continue to shelter him like a mom to a 12 year old during a rated "R" movie.
